The highly esteemed "Principal Partner Status" was recently awarded by Siemens to the Vienna University of Technology. Kurt Hofstädter, Head of the Digital Factory CEE at Siemens, lauded TU Vienna for being a reliable partner and, “…one of the top universities worldwide…” The German conglomerate highlighted that the university especially excelled in offering new bold visions when it came to the advances made in the Industrie 4.0 realm i.e. the internet of things, and additive manufacturing.

TU Vienna now joins an illustrious group of countries, namely 14, which boast Siemens approved ‘Principal Centers.’

Being a ‘Principal Partner’ of Siemens coincides well with the university's 200th anniversary, which is being celebrated continuously throughout this year. As a principal partner TU Vienna will now enjoy a high degree of strategic importance within the Siemens corporation, especially in regards to human resources and research. Joint activities between both Siemens and TU Vienna will follow suit as a result.
